The circuit judges and associate circuit judges are elected by the constituents of Jasper County. Each judge presides over a division and are often referred to by their division. The Circuit is comprised of 6 elected judges, one family court commissioner, and one treatment court commissioner. The Twenty-Ninth Judicial Circuit is a single county circuit whose jurisdiction is Jasper County, Missouri. Moreover, House Bill 991, which was introduced during the 2019 Legislative Session, gives the County the authority to take all or a portion of a resident’s Mississippi income tax return if that person is indebted to the County for Solid Waste fees.Missouri Circuit Courts are courts of original civil and criminal jurisdiction. Payment of all delinquent garbage fees is required in order to receive a motor vehicle tag. Solid Waste statements are mailed in December and are due by March 31 of the following year. The Tax Collector shall not issue or renew a motor road and bridge privilege license for any motor vehicle owned by you or registered at your address unless Solid Waste fees are paid. Failure to do so will result in penalties being placed on this property. State law requires the Jasper County Board of Supervisors to provide for the collection and disposal of garbage and/or rubbish, and all persons in the County generating garbage shall utilize the garbage collection and disposal system. Please do not report your garbage as missed until later in the day. During emergencies and natural disasters, collection may be delayed until conditions are deemed safe. In these instances, collection will usually take place within the next one to two working days. Large quantity generators producing more than ten (10) tires per week will contact Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) at 60 for the location of the nearest waste tire collection location to fit their needs.Ĭollection of garbage and bulk waste may be delayed from time to time due to holidays, equipment and mechanical problems or breakdowns. The waste tire collection site is available for use by all residents of the County and small businesses who generate ten (10) tires or less per week. The County offers a waste tire drop off to help residents properly dispose of waste tires. Waste tire accumulations pose a threat to public health, safety and the environment with the most common problems being open air fires, mosquitoes and others pests. If you have any questions regarding what can and cannot be disposed through the bulk waste collection, please contact the Solid Waste Department at 60 or 60 or contact your Supervisor. Item we cannot dispose of include: bricks, lumber, drywall, tiles, shingles, decking, fencing and other construction related materials. Items we can help you dispose of include: furniture, mattresses, small appliances and other items too large to fit in your bin. This ensures that you will continue to receive the best service possible and our workers can remain free from injury. Please be mindful and adapt best practices when preparing your garbage for pickup. Glass can shatter and cut, medical waste can transmit disease, and chemicals can burn and blind. If you need more information about collection days for your area, please call 60 or 60. Garbage is collected beginning at 5:30 a.m., Monday through Friday and on all holidays. We ask that your garbage be placed out near the end of your drive the night before your pick up day. Garbage is collected once each week from single family homes and businesses. We ask that you place your garbage in garbage bags. A 95-gallon wheeled container is provided to make storing and transporting your garbage stress-free. (ADSI) for the County’s garbage collection.
